About Me

A little bit about me…

Who am I?

I’m a globetrotting, adventure-seeking, travelling filmmaker-photographer, most recently having returned from a tour of South America. I hail from England (Reino Unido) and thus planned my trip perfectly to ensure I miss as much of the British winter as possible! Hola equatorial sun!

Ah, South America… mi amor! After receiving a scholarship through the University of Greenwich to study Spanish in Chile for 2 weeks back in 2017, I fell in love with the country, and by extension, the entire continent. I am more than happy to be able to return whenever I can to spend more time exploring and getting to know the people that call these incredible countries home.

Join me as I wander my way south, from Ecuador and the Galapagos, to Peru and Bolivia. I can’t wait to share my adventures with you!

Fact File:

My favourite South American…

  • Meal – My favourite meal was at a tourist restaurant in Arequipa, Peru designed to be a South American dining experience, and I loved every second! As a solo traveller I spend my meals reading my kindle, but here there…. I had a little English flag on my table to identify my nationality, and the meal itself consisted of some of the maaaannnny different varieties of potatoes they grow over there. My favourites were a dark purple (yes purple!) potato and a pinky one with a gorgeous flavour. I ordered it with alpaca, because of course I had to try it while I was there! It was which was scrummy, though guinea pig was definitely off the menu for me!
  • Disaster Story – Oooh, it’s so tricky to choose! I could go for getting bed bugs in Cuenca (I’m allergic!), but I think I’ll definitely pick my Colca Canyon trek, which just about did me in. Find out more in an upcoming post!
  • Experiences – It’s incredibly tricky to choose my top moments, but a few would have to be snorkelling with sea turtles for the first time ever in the Galapagos (& seeing a golden ray!), seeing a jaguar in the Amaru Bioparque of Cuenca, visiting Machu Picchu(!!!) and having all the time in the world to take photos, and cycling down Death Road. Oh, and also staying a night with a family on Amanti Island of Lake Titicaca.
  • Country – Ok, this one is incredibly tricky, and I’ve fallen for every country I visited, but top of my list would have to be Peru and the Galapagos. The Galapagos, because obviously, and Peru because the more I discovered and the longer I spent there, I grew to realise just how much this incredible country has to offer. From the capital city of Lima, to the desert with Huacachina and the Nazca Lines, the volcanoes and mountains of Arequipa and Colca Canyon, all the way to Puno on the shore of the iconic Lake Titicaca, Cusco and Machu Picchu. Wow.
  • Eco-system / Habitat – The Galapagos for SURE! In off-peak tourist season, onshore is a dream, and under the water…well, that’s why you go! Such a rich eco-system, it’s imperative we protect out planet before such wonders disappear forever.
  • Animal – Alpaca for sure! Although more specifically, there was a gorgeous little grey dog (which looked like a pittie mix) that I regret to this day not bringing home with me. I should definitely have put him in my bag and paid the fees to get him home!
  • Insect(s) – 89 butterflies + friendly black bees + the big blue iridescent butterflies.
  • Photos of me travelling – I had to get to grips with the selfie (oh no!), but here are my favourite photos of me during my travels…
